Kiosk question for booking shows

I read to book the shows as soon as you get on the ship and some people are saying the app doesn’t work. So I have a question on the kiosks. I haven’t done it for a long time on NCL but on MSC you had to put in your room card. Do you have to do that on NCL or do you manually enter your cabin number? The reason I’m asking is I’d like to book my brothers cabin at the same time too as he will be boarding later.  Thanks for any responses. Are the kiosks only on one deck?  For the Escape.

Kiosks are usually located on walls in stairway  lobbies next to elevator banks.  (One on each side).    I saw them on main passenger decks 6/7/8 which I believe will be the same on Escape.

On Breakaway two weeks ago we just scanned one of our cards, and then entered our cabin number.  That brought up both names for that room.  You could then select both and be reserved for the show.

This makes me think you might need to have a person from the other cabin scan their card too🤔
