Green Card holder and Eastern Caribbean Antilles Cruise - Is visa required for Puerto Plata?

I have a couple of friends who are Us green card holders and I know for a lot of destinations such as San Juan, Bimini and St Croix does not require visa or any other special requirements, but is visa required or any special requirements for Puerto Plata which is part of Dominican republic? Thank you

I see info here - https://passport-photo.online/blog/passport-dominican-republic/ saying there is a visa waiver program for green card holders, but not sure how valid the info on that site is

Check with the DR government web site.  Do not take the word of any TA. travel web site, etc.

We travelled in May 2022 on the Dominican Daze itinerary with green cards & Canadian passports and did not have any issues. It depends on where your friends are citizens of and which passport they are travelling with (they will need their passport in addition to their green card).

2) Is a visa required for non US citizens to enter the Dominican Republic as a tourist?

Any person who can legally travel or reside in the United States, Canada and the European Union (including Great Britain) does not need a Visa to visit the Dominican Republic for tourist purposes and can enter the Dominican Republic with a Tourist Card and a valid passport.

We did not have to purchase a tourist visa ourselves, we were just able to walk off of the ship.
