hrey08 Posted January 22, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 22, 2023 We will be sailing early May. I’m looking for recommendations in the following ports. We will have four children (13, 11, 6, 6). Thank you! Vancouver - we will be arriving two days early. If you can recommend anywhere to stay or things to do either in Vancouver or outside of Vancouver. I personally love national parks and seeing beautiful scenery. The kiddos love doing new fun things. Ketchikan- 2pm -8pm Sitka - 10 am - 5 pm. I’m having a really hard time finding anything for this stop Juneau - this stop I’m finding lots of things and can’t decide between the Icefield Helicopter excursion, whale watching and Mendenhall Glacier Tour or dog sledding. aroundtheworld96 Posted January 22, 2023 #2 Share Posted January 22, 2023 (edited) In Vancouver the Capilano Suspension Bridge is a very popular activity that the kids often love. There is also the cheaper Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge which is similar. If you want to see some views/scenery there is a gondola at Grouse Mountain. Stanley Park is another great place to go (great views from here since you mention liking the scenery). If your kids are strong bikers, you can rent bikes to go around the park, or you can just go for a walk. The Vancouver Aquarium is also in Stanley Park and has some awesome attractions for kids. When I went many years ago they offered an experience where you could interact with and feed the sea otters and it was a huge hit! I am not sure if they still offer this specific activity but I am sure they have all sorts of programming on. Northern Aurora Posted January 24, 2023 #5 Share Posted January 24, 2023 Ketchikan also has the lumberjack show which is appealing to some. In Sitka have you considered the Fortress of the Bear; check their website to determine if that may be of interest. Sitka also has the Sitka Sound Science Center; check their website too.
