Rare cruisestitch Posted January 24, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 24, 2023 Three people with luggage and 4 PM flights from Fort Lauderdale. Any ideas what to do from disembarkation time to airport check-in time?
FOPMan Posted January 24, 2023 #2 Share Posted January 24, 2023 you could go on the ship’s excursion of Fort Lauderdale or the Everglades.
capriccio Posted January 24, 2023 #3 Share Posted January 24, 2023 (edited) 1. Check and see if your ship offers excursions that will drop you off at the airport as long as your flight is after a certain time (and I think 4 pm is safe). Most do. Look for Disembarkation Excursions. 2. Rent a car and put your luggage in the trunk and do your own excursion. For ideas see www.sunny.org. 3. Store you luggage at Bags to Go (www.bagstogo.net) at the airport and then take a cab or ride share to downtown (Las Olas Blvd). Explore the area. Catch the water taxi (www.watertaxi.com) - a combination of tourist boat and transportation. Get off and have a leisurely lunch (the water taxi has discounts on its website to restaurants and attractions for each stop). Rare PacnGoNow Posted January 24, 2023 #4 Share Posted January 24, 2023 Or, use Princess EZCheck, if offered on your airline, and let your bags go to the airport and on to your final destination. You’ll be free to do what you want, no bags.
Rare PrincessArlena'sDad Posted January 24, 2023 #5 Share Posted January 24, 2023 We're doing the ship's everglades excursion. Price is very reasonable (Carnival). $60 adult, $45 child. Admission to the Everglades is about $30pp, and a transfer is, at best, $15pp. Charging $60/45 for the convenience and ease is fair, IMO.
rjack22 Posted January 24, 2023 #6 Share Posted January 24, 2023 We did a disembarkation tour to the Everglades. It was a nice tour and your bags went under the bus with you. I would recommend it.
JohninDC Posted January 25, 2023 #7 Share Posted January 25, 2023 resortpass.com will link you with hotels/resorts offering day passes to their pool/spa/beach facilities - tip them to store your bags while you swim, relax and grab lunch.
