RelaxKat Posted January 25, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 25, 2023 Hi everyone. We are first time Windstar cruisers on the Star Pride in a few weeks, and I've noticed that some people have said that they ended up going to different ports due to swells in the harbor recently. Can anybody tell me what happens if you have a Windstar excursion scheduled in the cancelled port? Do they refund your money?
3kidslater Posted January 25, 2023 #2 Share Posted January 25, 2023 Yes they give you a full refund.
RelaxKat Posted January 25, 2023 Author #3 Share Posted January 25, 2023 Thanks for the info. Hopefully we will make it to all of our scheduled ports, and it won't be an issue! We're really looking forward to our trip.
cruisencrazy Posted January 25, 2023 #4 Share Posted January 25, 2023 We have had it happen several times in the Caribbean on Windstar. They always seem to find a good replacement. Last one we had to miss Virgin Gorda and our bbq. We ended up having a deck bbq which was fun…bitter sweet.
ciaoYacht Posted January 26, 2023 #5 Share Posted January 26, 2023 (edited) I’ve read about Monserrat getting canceled and replaced with St. Kitts but have any other ports been canceled recently? if Virgin Gorda is canceled what port do they typically replace that with? Or is it a sea day? Traveling on the Pride week of Feb 25 and hoping to make all the ports! Edited January 26, 2023 by ciaoYacht
Strenz Posted January 26, 2023 #6 Share Posted January 26, 2023 St. Kitts Basseterre a great port, terrific beaches, beautiful scenery. Carambola Beach is fabulous. We had two ports cancel and went there twice. Great. Happy Sailing.
milepig Posted January 26, 2023 #7 Share Posted January 26, 2023 Northern Europe later in the season can be very dicey. We are doing mostly private excursions and the operators were all very understanding, we were doing a back to back and we had a stop in the same port on both legs and the operator just switched dates. WS will certainly reimburse you and it will show up as a credit on your final bill.
bebtwice Posted February 15, 2023 #8 Share Posted February 15, 2023 Had one port cancelled on our cruise. Excursion fee plus the port charges were refunded to our credit card of record.
