La Spezia? Anything to do within a short drive?

We are going to go to Lucca on our second day in LaSpezia. It’s a little over an hour by train. It’s a beautiful little town, and it will be a new place for us.

That is a very short hop from one port to the next, but lucky you.  SM is a really nice little resort town to while away some time with the added bonus of Portofino right next door.  Enjoy both. For suggestions of what to do and see, try Tripadvisor and other online sources.
