No Show

Folks from the UK have you been in the situation where your cabin mate pulls out of the trip last minute and how did you deal with this? I still intend to sail alone, wondering if there are any additional fees or or will we be reimbursed for anything we have paid for.

TIA

Cancel any planner items for the no-show before the sailing (the planner locks you out about 3 days before sailing). You might get some cruise fare fees back - there should not be any additional fees.

As long as this wasn't a casino offer with the cancelling cabinmate being the one who received the offer.  If that is the case (cabinmate was the one who received the offer), the T&Cs for casino offers require the pax who received the offer to sail,.so OP could be upcharged to pay full fare at single occupancy surcharge.

Some travel insurance covers the single occupancy surcharge if cabinmate cancels for a covered reason, but I'm not aware of any that would cover the upcharge to full fare due to the invited casino guest no longer sailing.

Note: you will not get Double points, policy changed a few months ago, because only two can book a GTY, which can be at times cheaper than a solo, so they closed that gap.

You will occasionally see guarantees available for one.  Be careful with that as you could get berthed in a Studio room and still not get the double points.
