Medallion app black vs princess.com gold, why?

Hi,

 

My last cruise with Princess was in 1992 and now my next one will be this June. After several emails to Princess I got my gold status, but my Medallion app is black and not gold? 

Does this mean that at port I will get a basic color and not a gold Medallion?

If you order your medallion to match your loyalty color it will be gold. You can also order (and pay for) custom colors.

Reports say that you can, but they are generic.

Yes,

but you'll have to turn in the medallion  if you want the card to work.
