Rebels82 Posted March 5, 2023 #1 Share Posted March 5, 2023 Just got off of 12 night Sirena cruise. Several nights we had 6:00 shows, in addition to, 9:30 shows. They were great and well attended. Several complimented the idea of 6:00 shows to the Cruise Director, Gary. He said to let other Cruise Directors and Corporate know you would like them.
jondfk Posted March 5, 2023 #2 Share Posted March 5, 2023 What a spectacular idea. Here’s hoping it goes fleet wide, at least some evenings.

davencl Posted March 6, 2023 #5 Share Posted March 6, 2023 (edited) We'll be boarding on friday the 10th. Good news. Is this new or added because the ship is full(which it is in my case) or possibly both? Edited March 6, 2023 by davencl
Rare ToxM Posted March 6, 2023 #6 Share Posted March 6, 2023 They did this on our Sirena TA last March - the time zone changes going east were causing the shows to be poorly attended. It was a very good idea.
MEFIowa Posted March 6, 2023 #7 Share Posted March 6, 2023 On Sirena 11/18-28/2022 there was one evening when the comic performed at 5:30 PM. The audience came out of there like a thundering herd at 6:30 as they ran to their restaurant reservations. You didn't dare get in their way. We even had one comic show at 2:30 in the afternoon near the end of the cruise. This cruise had 2 comics.
Rare Woofa Posted March 6, 2023 #8 Share Posted March 6, 2023 Not knowing how difficult something like this is for the crew doing the shows I also think its a great idea to have more options. Perhaps on sea days specifically when everyone is on the boat all day. Hate to admit when we went in January all we saw was the comedian one night. Not that we did not want to go but things just kept getting in the way. We also tended to eat later as my wife loved going to tea in the afternoons and we felt there was less of a rush after 7:30 or 8:00.
Rare pinotlover Posted March 6, 2023 #9 Share Posted March 6, 2023 If the ship opts to have 6:00 shows, that would be fine. However, it should be announced well in advance, before Specialties reservations are made. If this change turns a ship in ghost ship by 8:30, it will be a bad change. Past CD’s have discussed this before.
jackdeb Posted March 6, 2023 #10 Share Posted March 6, 2023 6:00 pm shows are a good idea if there are still the 9:30 shows. The earlier shows should be a solo performer, comedian, magician, guest singer etc. or one of the production cast backed by the house band. The later shows should stay as usual and book dining accordingly, the earlier shows are a bonus.
