Hi,

Has anyone stayed at the Holiday Inn across from Bayside Market?

I haven't but some from our Freedom cruise are. They hav a very good sailaway package that includes a shuttle to the pier and a bay cruise, I believe.

My family and I stayed there 2 years ago pre cruise. The rooms were average, free breakfast. If you can, get a room above the 4-5 floor, facing the port. You can see your ship return from the previous cruise in the am, if you're awake.

We stayed there in April 2005 with 28 others in our group... we were very satisfied. We used the pool it was small but we sat aroundlate and enjoyed it. The rooms were clean and had a good view of the port. Best of all it was located across from Bayside which offered entertainment as well as food and beverages. We used the restaurant for breakfast off the menu not the buffet. We found it to be good priced well and very good.

We paid $99.00 per room We will def. stay there pre cruise in APril 2007 for Freedom cruise

I have stayed there and will stay there again in September. It fills up fast, so don't wait too long to book if you are interested.;)

If you join their Priority Club, you save a discount on the room right away.

Bayside marketplace website to see information on that. It is right across the street.

Hello...We have stayed in Miami 9-times and can offer our opinion. What hotel is best really depends on your personal taste, and what you consider is too high or too low of a room rate for what you get.

Yes, the Holiday Inn right across from Bayside is very convenient and the room rates are low in comparison to other hotels in the area, however, in our opinion there are some trade-offs. but it might not matter for you and your family. The Holiday Inn is just a plain hotel, nothing fancy, average rooms with basic quality bedding, no fancy restaurant's, lounges, etc. This is fine for some and depending upon your taste, could be an excellent choice if you just a want palce to sleep the night before your cruise.

If you would prefer more comfortable bedding, larger rooms, quality restaurants, lounge entertainment, and just more luxiourious surroundings, and do not mind paying additional for this type of setting, then you might want to consider the Hyatt Regency, or Intercontinental Hotels. We just stayed at the Hyatt and in our opinon was wonderful. We figure, we're paying and spending so much anyway for vacation, why skimp on the hotel. But that is us. The Hyatt is just blocks down further from The Holiday Inn. We took a cab to Bayside from the Hyatt that cost $4.50, then took a cab the next day to the port, even though we had RCCL transfers. By taking the cab instead of the bus transfer from the hotel tot he pier, we were able to arrive at the pier at 11-AM, and got right on the ship versus waiting for the bus to leave the hotel at around 1-PM with a mass chaoes of people.

Hope this helps a bit. Have a great cruise.

Regards,

Dave
