wendysue44 Posted March 26, 2023 #1 Share Posted March 26, 2023 Is it possible to switch cabins so that people who want to purchase the drink package can, but not actually share a cabin? There are four of us cruising in which two want to purchase the drink package and two who can not drink alcohol due to medical reasons. We want to put the non-drinkers in the same cabin, but "on paper" only. Is this possible? TIA!!
Rare BoozinCroozin Posted March 26, 2023 #2 Share Posted March 26, 2023 People have done it. They go to Guest Services to get a card for the other room. I think that is all it takes.

TIA!! as long as your group is not one of those who illegally smoke or is causing some kind of commotion, wouldn't we think carnival security and staff has much bigger fish to fry. It seems like it would take a proactive complaint by someone to carnival staff to cause you any problems.
Elaine5715 Posted March 26, 2023 #4 Share Posted March 26, 2023 You just get "room only cards"
jsglow Posted March 26, 2023 #5 Share Posted March 26, 2023 I think the one important thing to note is that the drinkers should be officially booked into the same cabin. So if two couples are sailing together, the 2 drinking guys (for example) need to be officially in cabin #1 while their wives are booked into cabin #2. Carnival doesn't care where you sleep and will provide 'room only cards'. But I don't think they can move a person's folio (not 100% sure). So just be sensitive to exactly how you book. Enjoy. I had a similar question. So getting room only keys is easy and not denied?

Everyone involved has to go to Guest Services at the same time so they can verify consent I believe. I've never personally done it so others will likely confirm. dallasdan Posted March 27, 2023 #9 Share Posted March 27, 2023 I have done it twice. Not for the cheers reason, but because of free casino offers. Only the 2 people that are switching rooms need to go to guest services. One time they reprinted our sail and sign cards. The other time they gave us each a room key only. Also remember that your luggage might go to the wrong room.
