Excursion “wait listed” and “cooking class” wait listed

Many of the excursions for our upcoming cruise and all of the cooking classes are already booked because this is a very last-minute trip for us. When looking to select, there are some where we are list as “wait list”.  Does that mean we really are already on a list, or do we need to stop by the excursion desk to get on a list once onboard? Is there a way to get on a physical wait list before boarding?

Did you book those classes or excursions  or trying to book one?

 If  trying to book one  maybe call O & ask to be put on the wait list

 

 We went on the waitlist for  a cooking class on boarding day 

we manged to get in one of our selections  but no guarantee that will happen with either excursions or cooking classes

Oceania will put you on a wait list up to a certain number, then stop.

 

Check in a couple days before either to see if you’ve cleared, then check again the day of the event. One of the cooking classes was sold out, but only 5 people actually showed up. The chef was signing people up at the door.

On Marina now. We prebooked excursions by phone before we sailed. (We tried the online system and couldn't get it to price properly.) One of the tours we wanted was waitlist only. When we boarded, we found out that we had cleared the waitlist and the tickets were on our cabin.

Seems like it is a good idea to call in if online tells you one of your excursions is 'wait listed' - in some cases this is what a cancelled excursion will tell you. That's what happened to us Aug 2022 for a Salerno port stop/Capri tour.

Is there a way to tell if you are on a shore excursion waitlist, and if so where you are on it?  When we booked online many shore excursions were sold out, but one let us check to be on waitlist.  Don’t know if that was a glitch or if we are on a waitlist.

The only way to know for sure is to call "O" tomorrow and ask.
