TNcruiser501 Posted March 27, 2023 #1 Share Posted March 27, 2023 If a cruise is closed looped, starting and ending in Miami, would a government ID and birth certificate suffice to board in Miami? This cruise ports in Colon, but does not transit the Panama Canal. The cruise line documentation concerning what's needed for certain countries says a passport is needed for a Panama Canal. Many in my group ate taking this as Panama the country itself.
CruiserBruce Posted March 27, 2023 #2 Share Posted March 27, 2023 Pretty sure a passport is required for cruises that stop in Panama.

Since I posted this, I found the answer. If flying into or out of Panama, a passport is needed. If entering by Sea, a passport is required or a certified birth certificate with gov ID.

Also Colombia requires you to be vaccinated against COVID or have a negative COVID test before embarkation. There's a discussion of this on the NCL board that you may want to read.
