Restaurant Manager Jay came into the MDR as we were there and we chatted with him. He asked us how the food was, and we said excellent. We mentioned how we like the pastries, especially the the chocolate croissant ones. He said, well I will have some special pastries delivered in the morning tomorrow and asked what time was good. We said 6 am as we had an early call into St. Thomas.

So we headed back onto the ship to change out of our beach gear, and then we were going to look for something for our travel wall.

So we bought a little steel drum. Its fun, and the vendor was great!

After dinner, we headed to the theater.

 

 

 

We settled in for Kinky Boots. This was the final performance of the cruise, and also the final performance on the Encore and likely NCL as well.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The cast did an excellent job, and I am sure it was really tough for them! I enjoyed the show.

 

 

We headed to bed, because we had an earlier arrival into St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands tomorrow.

Day 9 - Port #6 

December 31st, 2022

It was still dark as we backed the ship into the Havensight Pier. 

 

 

The sun was just starting to come up!

 

 

 

So the reason I was up before light, was Susan said 6 am would be an excellent time to get the pastries delivered to the room. Remember how I mentioned that Jay had said that he would have pastries delivered to us yesterday? Well I was up to receive them. Susan the one who set the time, was still asleep.

Susan finally got up, had her pastries and coffee, then we headed to breakfast.

She had more pastries at breakfast. Although she said these did not compare to the Almond Pastries.

Afterwards it was time to ring in the New Year! We headed down to Q. There were 5 or 6 different spots with Music, you could hang out in leading up to Midnight. The Pool Area was were the biggest party was. Q was the quietest!

Gee, when we ordered a bottle of Veuve Cliquot Brut on Regent Cruises' Explorer, it was $69.  Judging from the menu of bubbly here, the same champagne on the Norwegian Encore is $99.  Didn't realize the mark up was quite that great between the two lines.  Actually would have figured the pricing would be the other way around.
