NCL Jewel specialty dining question

New cruiser here.  We have one specialty dining as part of our package in May.  Made a reservation for Le Bistro.  On the reservation, it shows:

>>> You have selected à la carte specialty dining, charges for your selections will be added to your onboard account<<<

 

Please tell me exactly how this works.  Are we each allowed an appetizer, soup or salad, entree and dessert?  

We also each have the drink package.  So we can order drinks with dinner?

I’m assuming everything is charged to our account and then deducted so long as it falls with the package guidelines?

1 from each section (soup, appetizer/salad, entree, dessert).  They actually bring a slip at the end of the meal and it will show a $0 balance.  You are free to add a gratuity that WILL be charged to your room, if you wish.

 

The system doesn't know if your plan is to use the free-at-sea meal so it's boiler-plate for all reservations.

they typically will ask you when you first arrive at the restaurant if you want to use your dining credit.

Yes you can order drinks with dinner with the drink package.  You may want to bring a cocktail with you to dinner..as recently the drink service at dinner is a little slower.

Yes. Exactly.

Yes. Exactly.

No. Nothing is charged to your room. For dinner, all of the charges are charged to the dining package. For the drinks, everything is charged to the drink package.
