jtfoster Posted April 24, 2023 #1 Share Posted April 24, 2023 Just curious whether the pools gets much use on an Alaskan cruise. If average high temp. is in the 60s F, seems cold for a swim. Are the pools heated? This cruise is early June on The Muse.
julmops Posted April 24, 2023 #2 Share Posted April 24, 2023 Following as I will be in the same case, being on the Muse on the June 6 cruise 😉
gcornell Posted April 24, 2023 #3 Share Posted April 24, 2023 On the Muse last Summer the pools got very little use. Mostly kids. I think my kids went in once or twice. Hot tubs got a little more use but still not much. Yes they were heated.
Daveywavey70 Posted April 24, 2023 #4 Share Posted April 24, 2023 It’s the luck of the draw. On our Muse cruise in Alaska 2019 (June 18-28) we had amazing weather with some days around 26-27 so it got plenty of use then, the hot tubs more so on the cooler days. Hope you have an amazing time. Rothko1 Posted April 24, 2023 #5 Share Posted April 24, 2023 Was on the Shadow last June and the day we went to see the Hubbard Glacier it was a gorgeous day, the pool deck was very busy and there were some folks in the pool.

If you’re worried that you’ll need to be up at 6:00a to reserve a lounger, you can put that worry aside. With that said, yes, there will be people at the pool, even in it, from time-to-time. Yes the pools are heated. I've had a swim in them in the Arctic. And, I wasn't alone.🤣 It's the transition one needs to brave.
Strumdatjag Posted April 24, 2023 #10 Share Posted April 24, 2023 Those of us who are skiers relish the opportunity to go into a pool or hot tub in frigid temps. May temperatures in Alaska are piece of cake!!!
Tex1 Posted April 25, 2023 #11 Share Posted April 25, 2023 Yes the pools are heated. They were used on my Antarctic cruise. Not lot, but were used. They did drain them a few times when seas got bad.
Rothko1 Posted April 25, 2023 #12 Share Posted April 25, 2023 Being a Floridian, I don't go into the water unless it's summer time.
