Rare Ryan82 Posted April 29, 2023 #1 Share Posted April 29, 2023 So far sailed just on Preziosa and Virtuosa (and on Grandiosa in a week's time). We loved both buyt probably just preferred the Preziosa. Main reason the atrium areas are lively and fun but it felt on Virtuosa you just didn't have as many distinct unique spaces as you did on the Preziosa they sort of merge into one. Anyone got any experience of the older ships like the Musica or Armonia? They kept nice or a bit dull?
CruisingFox27 Posted April 29, 2023 #2 Share Posted April 29, 2023 We've recently sailed on Lirica and have previously sailed on Orchestra. The ships are kept very nicely, they're not as glitzy as the newer ships but have a more intimate feel.
Rare Ryan82 Posted April 29, 2023 Author #3 Share Posted April 29, 2023 Hi @CruisingFox27 thanks for the reply. Do they do the diamond dinner on the Orchestra or Lirica? Like that the Lirica and smaller ships do the East Med which is on our bucket list.
CruisingFox27 Posted April 29, 2023 #4 Share Posted April 29, 2023 Yes to the Diamond dinner. I can't recall where we had it on Orchestra but had a fabulous meal at the Kaito Sushi restaurant on Lirica just.
Rare Ryan82 Posted April 29, 2023 Author #5 Share Posted April 29, 2023 Good stuff. Where did you sail @CruisingFox27?
CruisingFox27 Posted April 29, 2023 #6 Share Posted April 29, 2023 We sailed from Malaga, doing the West Mediterranean and North Africa. Revisited a few places we'd not properly explored previously due to closure or illness, Portofino and Marseille and new ones in Morocco. Really lovely.
Nunagoras Posted April 29, 2023 #7 Share Posted April 29, 2023 The older ships are the same concept of the Preziosa, but smaller. No specialty restaurant other than a tiny sushi place. The ships are nice, even though the Lirica class may eventually to be showing their age.

The ship was nice, spent a lot of time in the Irish pub. We were in a “suite” deck 12 forward, had a dining area for suite guests for breakfast and lunch, not sure about dinner, as we asked to be seated in main dining area. Would definitely cruise again on the smaller ships, get to actually meet and talk with other cruisers!
gkbiiii Posted May 2, 2023 #9 Share Posted May 2, 2023 I had a suite on Armonia, thought the ship was the best in the fleet. Outstanding Suite Dining Room (better than Yacht Club dining) and the Steakhouse was great too. Really Liked Poesia too, great Japanese dining room, and a stunning ship. MSC's Classic Vessels are by far, their best offerings!
Rare Ryan82 Posted May 2, 2023 Author #10 Share Posted May 2, 2023 Thanks so much for the replies. The Musica out of Pireas in October has a great itinerary and really would love to sail around Greece, Turkey and Cyprus. Minor point but with the lack of speciality restaurants is there still a diamond dinner available?

The ships have a specialty restaurant, just not several of them like the newer ships. 1
