7:40AM flight Amsterdam to Heathrow (US final destination)--what time to arrive?

In the US we say arrive 3 hours prior to flight time for international flights. 

Is the the appropriate time to go?

Good question.... Schipol has had lots of problems with long waits over the last  2 years (including our trip through the airport last June.)    However, I understand things have gotten quite a bit better lately.    I would still plan 3 hours if it were me.    Also, the Hilton in the airport is a nice place and very convenient for early morning flights....

 

I hope things are well in Lincoln, I am a UNL grad now in Michigan.. !

Lincoln is great! UNL grad too--youngest graduates in a few weeks. (the other 2 chose TCU). 

 

Yeah, I was planning on 3 hours...was hoping I didn't have to go earlier!

I am staying at the Ibis Styles at the airport--$125 for a well rated hotel was a heck of a deal.
