Virgin Voyages Grog Walk

Getting ready for my first cruise on Virgin and noticed that there are two different Grog walks listed on a sample itinerary posted by another cruise critic member. They are at the same time but start at different bars. Does anyone know if they will both stop at the same four bars? If not, any views on which one is better?

On the same subject, I thought I saw that Grog walk offered snacks as well as drinks. Would I be missing out on anything good if I ate dinner right before the grog walk and didn't have much of an appetite left?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Can’t speak on the two different Grog Walks. This is fairly new. I wouldn’t be to concerned about what bars you might miss, the experience is more about meeting the Happenings Cast and other sailors.

I would definitely eat dinner before the Grog Walk. Snacks were popcorn and bar snack mix at the Social Club.

Definitely do the Grog walk. Agree that I wouldn't worry about which bars you're hitting - it's about the social aspect of meeting the Happenings Cast and other sailors. I'd imagine they have the 2 starting in different places to accommodate the increased demand.

Eat before you go. You need a solid food foundation because you wind up mixing liquors. It turned into a very fuzzy night for me.

We had a total of 4 grog walks on our 6 night sailing. Two on first and two on second last night.

We went on the first night, and both grogs stopped at the casino for the last bar/drink. We went to dinner before, and would highly suggest you do as well, the snacks for the walk were like chips, pretzels (for loose canon stop from the diner).

Interesting, was the PJ party in the Manor? They used to end it the Athletic Club bar, and the PJ party was at that bar.

They are the same, but start at different places.  They go to the same places, but in a different order.

I'm thinking eating beforehand is a good idea because of the cutesy drinks served at Grog Walk and then drinking right after the Grog Walk at PJ Party.

(I read they'll substitute beer or wine at Grog Walk, but still..better to eat than drink on an empty stomach)

They'll definitely substitute but they have the mixed drinks all prepared and ready when you enter - it had been my intention to substitute but I found myself just reaching for the prepared beverage instead.
