Boarding in Civitavecchia

Recommended Posts

How early can you board the ship when sailing out of Civitavecchia?  We will be leaving Rome at 7:30 a.m. by private transport and  am wondering if I need to plan something to do near the port.

Personally I’d delay leaving Rome for a couple of hours there’s absolutely no rush .

Leave Rome at 09.30 and you should be at the terminal about 10.30 which means you should then be able to immediately check in and embark it’ll certainly save a lot of hanging about.

I just checked in for my cruise out of Civitavecchia and the earliest time was 10:30. There may have been earlier ones that filled up before I hopped on, but that's the earliest I saw. We're staying in Rome until our 11am checkout time and then heading to port.

You didn't miss anything, 10:30 is the earliest time available.

Leaving Rome way too early.  Check in starts at 10:30 and there really isn't much to do around the port.
