runner2013 Posted May 13, 2023 #1 Share Posted May 13, 2023 Hi all, My husband and I recently dropped my in-laws off in Port Everglades for a cruise. While we were there, we noticed how easy it seems to be to walk from the Hilton Marina hotel, (or the Renaissance Hotel) to the port. We have a cruise scheduled for Christmas and were tossing around the idea of just walking to the port instead of arranging transportation. We're in our 50's, good health and walking isn't an issue for us. Has anyone done this, if so, how was it? We are on Celebrity if that helps with the terminal location. Rare BoozinCroozin Posted May 13, 2023 #2 Share Posted May 13, 2023 I don't think it is even permitted to walk in.
CruiserBruce Posted May 13, 2023 #3 Share Posted May 13, 2023 As discussed here frequently, you can only walk to Terminal 2 and 4 from the gate near the Hilton Marina. The rest of the port is quite spread out, and definitely not walking friendly from the gates.

Terminals 2 (Princess) and 4 (soon to be Disney) - there is no terminal 3 by the way - are before port security so there is no security to contend in and there is a sidewalk on the east (where the terminals are located) side of Eisenhower Blvd. As CruiserBruce said, the other terminals are inside the security perimeter. Walkers can go thru security but the sidewalks have no shade protection from the south Florida sun plus there is heavy truck traffic (the port is a major cargo and tanker port). See www.porteverglades.net for a map of the port and the surrounding area.
