Can I put my phone away?

Hi, it’s been a number of years since my last cruise. I like to leave my phone in the safe for the entire cruise, I’m a luddite!

 

Will I be able to do that while sailing in the Yacht Club? Or are there now things in 2023 that require a phone on the ship?

There is no need for a phone - everything can be done without one.

 

You will still get paper daily planners, menus etc.   If you don't use the app on your phone you might need to use one of the big screens to book the theatre shows and ask the concierge to provide a copy of the bill at the end of the cruise - I can't think of any other impact.

You can definitely get by without your phone. I'm currently onboard Virtuosa, also in YC and the app will not work on my phone at all. Everyone on the ship has tried and they tell me it is problem with their system which they can't fix. This same phone worked last year and DH's app is working???

I'm just using the daily planner with no problems😀

Do they no longer slide a copy of the bill at the end of the cruise under your door? It seems like I remember that.

Not sure if they still do that but you can see your bill on the TV, that does work for me!
