Valdez excursion logistics

On the Spirit, arriving in Valdez on June 27.  It appears we are docking at the CON terminal, which is a (paid, grrrr) shuttle ride away from downtown. 

 

I'm taking the Best of Valdez bus tour.  Will it pick up and drop off at the CON terminal?  Can I get dropped off in downtown instead and ride the shuttle back to CON?  I'd like to do some exploring of downtown, if only for an hour or two.

From what I saw a couple of weeks ago: Yes you get picked up at the "Terminal". IF for some reason your not, you should not need to pay for the shuttle though. Wether or not you can get dropped off somewhere else is probably at the discretion of the excursion tour driver. I would be surprised if it would be a problem though.

Having said that, I didn't actually take part in anything in Valdez. I didn't have anything booked and weather wasn't good so I stayed onboard and had a nice relaxing day watching hat went on outside.

They did not charge us for the shuttle May 18.  I heard they didn’t check for tickets when boarding the the shuttle the week before anyways.
