I am enjoying your live 🙂

we sail in a couple of weeks (11 June -18 June) and first time cruisers on honeymoon!

can I please ask- do they offer vegan ice cream? Our 3 yo is allergic to dairy and we can’t get a call back from MSC to confirm 😔

Thanks

Natalie

How about fruit sorbet? My husband orders it nearly every evening in the main dining room.

We board on Sunday and we’re looking for some options for Nassau. The ship’s excursions that were of interest are sold out and a couple in our group would like to go snorkeling. I’m wondering if there are any tour operators offering independent excursions when you get off the ship?

I'm sure there will be.

We just booked Margaritaville for the day we go to Nassau.

Hello! What time is your MDR when you are not at a specialty restaurant? If I have 8:30 dinner what time show would I see in the Main theatre?

We have 5:30 for dinner but most shows are 7 or 7:30 and 9 or 9:30. Some shows have 3 showings. The shows are about 45 minutes long.

Yesterday was Ocean Cay day. Someone in our group texted a picture of donuts they got from the buffet so I ran up and got some before they were gone. While there I also got some fruit, sausages and bacon. Brought that back to the cabin. I ordered some coffee and hot chocolate and some chocolate croissants from room service. The hot chocolate was a packet of cocoa mix and a thermos of hot milk. It was good and was delivered in 20 minutes or less.  The donuts were pretty good for donuts on a ship. The sausages are great. The bacon is a little crispy for my taste but hey, it’s bacon. We also got our invite to the welcome back cocktail party. That’s one of the benefits from doing a status match with MSC.

After eating we got ready to get off at the island. We walked to the buffet building because it was about 11:30 and we’ve heard about all the lines. I detoured to the bathroom building and then we went to the buffet. There were 2 lines already built up. While standing in line I asked if we could get drinks without going through the line and they said yes. So I got a couple of waters. Also we grabbed a table in the shade and left our stuff there. The line took about 15 minutes or so. I tried some ribs, a burger and fries, potatoe salad, a piece of roasted chicken and jerk fish and a brownie, cookie, and a piece of rum cake. It was pretty good for bbq food. While standing on line for it all they made announcements that the burgers and fries were grab and go. You didn’t have to get in line for those.

After lunch we went to the lagoon and got a couple chairs and got in the water to cool off. After a bit we headed over to the lighthouse bar and sat with a couple of our friends and had some drinks. I was doing some tequila shots and a few different drinks I hadn’t had yet. We also ordered some crab cakes (not nearly as good as the ones at Ocean Cay but they were good) and an order of shrimp cocktail (I’ve had better).  We had reservations at Butcher’s Cut and we needed to get ready. So we walked back to the ship. The island is beautiful and has several nice beaches. It’s a little sparse but a great little place. If they put in an infinity pool with a swim up bar that would be the bomb.

We got to Butcher’s and we ordered foie deviled eggs, Smokey tomato soup, filet, creamed spinach for me and a baked potato. And we both got the lava cake for dessert. It was all really good.

After dinner we went to see a comedian, Adam Grabowski, but I decided instead that wanted to go to the Sky Lounge so I went to  the Sky Lounge to smoke and get some drinks. Dw said she didn’t really care for the comedy show and went to bed afterwards. I was having good conversation and drinks were flowing and I think it was after 12 before I went to bed. Did I mention the espresso martinis are delicious?

It was a nice touch to have a little snack buffet in the lounge. They serve it a couple times a day and they have sweet and savory bites.

Another tip I learned is that the buffet has cookies, ice cream, and pasties and all the fixings at 4 pm. And cookies again at 10 pm.

The drinks are why I didn’t post yesterday lol.

Today was Nassau day. I was feeling a little leftover from last night and I slept in a little. Dw got out and about and and tried the ice cream at the gelato place. I finally got to the buffet and ate some soup and a slice of pizza ( the pepperoni pizza is good). Then we walked over to the ice cream bar and got a little.   We then headed to the room to get ready to get off the ship. We walked around the port and I got some video and pictures since it is the first week open. There is still a little construction going on but I t really looks nice.

When we got back onboard it was about 4 and I heard that they put out cookies at 4 and 10. We walked to the back and they had ice cream, cookies, pastries, and all the fixings. Did I mention that the platters they have for plates in the buffet fit as a shelf in the cabin refrigerator? We have 5:30 dining so we got ready to go to dinner.

At dinner, I got a garden salad and some French onion soup. For the main I got the barramundi which was pretty good. For dessert I got the chocolate duo cake. After dinner we went to the show Top Hits. We both enjoyed that a lot. Afterwards we went to the Sky Lounge and got a few drinks and bites.

After all the walking we did we ended up in the cabin to go to bed and skipping the white party.

Really happy to see you are having a good time and enjoying the food, drinks, and entertainment. Your experience is much in line with my own and it is really making me excited for my upcoming Meraviglia sailings in September and October!

I think there is definitely a place for MSC in our cruise stable. We really like it. It’s elegantly laid back. I would not hesitate booking them in the future.

Thank you! Yes she would love that actually, it’s usually vegan in most restaurants. It’s reassuring to know they have it 🙂
