world_traveler_et Posted June 1, 2023 #1 Share Posted June 1, 2023 I sure hope this does not happen but I wonder if Glacier Bay National Park sailings would another sea day as the park rangers are government employees. The same could be said about visiting Mendanhall Glacier in Juneau.
Lane Hog Posted June 1, 2023 #2 Share Posted June 1, 2023 Are rangers essential to the sailings? Precedent was set during the last "shutdown" not to penalize tourists by allowing privately run concessions to continue operate.
LB_NJ Posted June 1, 2023 #3 Share Posted June 1, 2023 That was a shutdown, not a default. Who knows what would happen. It is possible 2/3 of the banks in the US could fail. Air traffic control could be shut down. Closing Glacier Bay would be the least of the problems. Anything is possible.
