Trieste port to Trieste airport

Disembarking the Oosterdam on June 23 and have an 11 am flight. What is the easiest and most economical way to get from port to airport? Cost? 
 

We are willing to share taxi van with two others.

The most economical option would be train which would be about a 30 minute journey.  The train station is about a 15-20 minute walk from the pier. 

 

The easiest option would be a cab or driver. Email for the cost.

But given the large crowds coming off the ship looking for a cab, you'd need to have a ride reserved.  We waited quite awhile for cab when we ARRIVED to Trieste by train. It was pouring down rain which added to the problem, but we waited an hour !

We walked to the train station.  It was completely flat.  Really easy and just about 1 km.  There were some people struggling with the journey- those with large suitcases (not us, I have listened toRick Steves multiple times) and those with 4 wheeler luggage.
