Ocean cay snorkeling

Hi

We are about to book a MSC cruise that will stop 2 days at ocean cay.

We love snorkeling so looking to really organize this.

1) Do they have paying snorkeling excursions on this island?

2) How is the snorkeling off the beaches? I saw an underwater video by a cruiser and was not too impressed. Sandy bottom with a couple schools of 1 foot long fish. There is also what seems to be a shark net in the water, am I right?

The person says the beach right off the cruise ship is the best for snorkeling. If that's it, I might just hang out at the bar LOL

3) Can if fish? (Catch and release).

We will have our own snorkeling gear, so no worries there.

Thxs a lot

In short, if you LOVE snorkeling you will be sorely disappointed.

The snorkeling is a 2 on a 10 scale - a 2 because the water is nice but there's VERY little to see.

Yes, there is a shark net.

Yes, the beach "right off the cruise ship" is the best (near the lighthouse)

No, you cannot fish.

No paying snorkeling excursions.

Oh wow ☹️

Well i guess i will snorkel that spot and done.

No fishing either, huh!

Beach all day, for 2 days ☹️

Thxs so much, I might book another cruise that stops there only one day.

👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Never been to Ocean Cay but we are booked for next year. It looks like there is a shipwreck snorkeling excursion. Here is a video

Yes i just found out about it too. They also have a catamaran excursion and they stop on a shallow reef, you see stingrays.

I think i overheard the crew say they can go in the water not passed a certain rock.

Looking into it right now.

Thxs for the help 👍🏻
