I don't fancy carrying a bottle around with me, so it looks like I will be switching to drinking wine by the glass, even though it will no doubt work out a bit more expensive. One large glass with dinner is enough for me.

The large glasses are sometimes cheaper than buying a bottle, so it probably won't cost you any more. I suspect P&O prefer selling wine by the glass, which is probably why the pricing is so keen.

From the prices I’ve seen listed, buying a large glass, which is actually 1/3 of a bottle is the best value. 
I certainly couldn’t do justice to the package on my future cruise and will happily pay as I go.
