kstetser Posted June 23, 2023 #1 Share Posted June 23, 2023 We will be porting in Rotterdam in August and do not enjoy group tours. We would like to walk about, have a nice non-touristy meal and visit a museum or two. We are also fond of gardens, architecture and street art. 2 vegetarians n our party. Any recommendations, tips or warnings? I'm reading Rotterdam is very walkable, would you agree?
Ine Posted June 24, 2023 #2 Share Posted June 24, 2023 Indeed Rotterdam is very walkable and also has good frequent public transport allover town and around. You will find some good info on this website: https://en.rotterdam.info/ You will see a lot of new or rather new buildings in town since during WWII the center was totaly destroyed.
harola Posted June 24, 2023 #3 Share Posted June 24, 2023 (edited) From the ship you will see the other side of the river where the museums are. You might want to visit “de Kunsthal” or the “Depot Boijmans van Beuningen” (tickets only for sale online). Markthal and cubehouses are also not far away. At the end of the pier there is a metro station (Wilhelminaplein) and the tramway. You can walk if you like. There is a lot of modern architecture in the city. Beginning on the pier and further in the city. When crossing the river the center is not far away. Edited June 24, 2023 by harola 1
