Ship shuttle to town in Reykjavik?

We’re booked on the Island Princess leaving Copenhagen on July 12. We booked later than usual and have only been able to book a couple of tours thru the ship and 1 private…none look great but that was all that’s left.  Frankly a real disappointment but couldnt know

when we booked. However we feel we’ll enjoy things anyway. In Reykjavik we didn’t see any shuttle into town from cruise terminal which is not right in Reykjavik.  We hoped Princess would provide transport even if we had to pay but don’t see it listed.  Was on hold at Princess to ask but gave up.  Anyone know?  Thanks!

There will either be a privately run bus service or taxis available if Princess does not do something directly.  I've even seen the port itself providing shuttle service out of the port area.

We were just in Reykjavik on the Sky Princess and we had free shuttles from ship to almost next to the concert hall Harpa that was along side the water

Thanks for the info everyone.  Actually we’d love to be doing a tour instead but both ship and private tours are all booked. We’re disappointed but going to town will be something to do!

We didn’t have an excursion booked in Reykjavík either.  We took the free bus provided by the port authority and walked around town.  It was still a fun time!  Here is a copy of the patter with more information on the free shuttle.

We have been considering booking an independent tour to the Blue Lagoon, but there are only 2 time slots available - we would either need to leave the ship to get a bus at 7.30am (feels risky in case of delays arriving - we're due in at 7am) or return to the ship for 5pm (also feels risky as our all aboard will be 5.30pm)... Not sure I feel comfortable with either of those options, so we'll probably use this shuttle service and explore the city. Thanks again!
