Rare albingirl Posted June 30, 2023 #51 Share Posted June 30, 2023 One of my fondest memories is this. We had a young girl on a transatlantic and there were no other young girls her age. She was home schooled and maybe around 11. She was taught to knit on this cruise and it was utterly charming how happy she was. When the long cruise ended, she cried and so did we all. Loved her. 1

My daughter and I were cruising together and she knit most of a river otter during that cruise! On my first QM2 Transatlantic, there was a regular crafting group that met in the Carinthia Lounge every afternoon - I actually think it was only scheduled for a couple of days, but we all just kept showing up and taking over one of the corners.

It's easier to start with large needles. I can't work with small needles. The project doesn't "grow" quickly enough.

I have a vague recollection of there being another one but I would have to double-check with my sister. And Crocheting ..
