cruisingteachers4 Posted June 27, 2023 #1 Share Posted June 27, 2023 We're sailing with 4 people in our small cabin, and I was wondering if anyone had knowledge of how the third and fourth beds are set up on the Diamond Princess? Specifically, two drop downs from the ceiling, a couch and a single drop down, or a couch and a roll away? So many possibilities! Thank you in advance for your 411! Hopefully they are your small children, cause it's really a tight setup. You'll have what looks like two bunk beds, there's no room for a couch or rollaway in the room. When beds are down, you can't sit up, they serve one purpose, laying down. There's a couple ladders to climb up to the top bunks, which will need to be stored in your cabin during the day, which takes more space away. There is one chair in the room at the desk. SCX22 Posted June 27, 2023 #3 Share Posted June 27, 2023 On Grand Class ships, which the Diamond Princess is part of, only mini-suites and above have couches. Any category below mini suites will not have a couch, and will have the 3rd and 4th person berths as pullman beds from the ceiling. Rare cr8tiv1 Posted June 27, 2023 #4 Share Posted June 27, 2023 (edited) The two bunk beds (pullmans) are attached to the side walls and unfolded every night. The are NOT recessed into the ceiling. Your "master" bed would need to be in twin configuration so that the bunk beds are accessible. * Interesting article. I didn't know that, but the photos prove me wrong. Not the norm for Grand Class ship interior cabins. The cabin is "large" enough to accommodate 2 night stands and one desk. There is not much room for anything extra. They even removed the small round table. Edited June 27, 2023 by cr8tiv1

You had passengers griping and whining from minisuites, and this delightful family making all the lemonade.
