Just curious. What type of stateroom opened up and was the price you had to pay a lot higher than when you booked originally? (This may be harder to figure if the stateroom category isn't the same.)

Remember, once onboard, you can shuffle people around if you need to.

….For our cruises the past 15 years we worked with a dear friend and travel agent, but she is no longer in the business….We'll work directly with the cruise company or a TA that we can speak to for future cruises.

That’s good news. I have worked with the same (live) cruise travel agent for many years and value her. Could your friend recommend another travel agent she knows?

We were fortunate that a stateroom in the same category opened up for less than $200 per person
