Sky Princess with a 2 year old and standard balcony cabins

After an excellent cruise to Norway this year  we are looking at a repeat next year on the Sky Princess. Our child will be 2 next year and will probably be too big for the travel cot we used this year. From what I can see the standard balcony cabins on the do not have sofa beds and have Pullman beds which would not be suitable for our child due to the height they are fixed at.

 

I'm presuming that unless there is an alternative to this in the cabin that the only option is to upgrade to the deluxe balcony cabin which has the sofa bed?

 

Also I've noted that the childrens' facilities are for children from 3 years onwards. Will our child be able to use the treehouse (the bit for the youngest) if we supervise him?

Sleeping options:

Balcony Category: 3rd berth drops from the ceiling. Lower bed is split into two twins. One adult could sleep in the upper berth and the child in one of the lower twin beds. The bathroom has a shower, no tub

Deluxe Balcony: This cabin has a two seat love seat which converts to a 3rd berth. A plus in your situation. The bathroom has a shower, no tub.

Mini Suite: This cabin has a three seat sofa which converts to a bed. The mini suite also has a tub/shower combination.

@skynight has well stated your options. You may visit the children's area if you accompany your 2 year old. Princess has some info on this on their website.

Standard balcony cabins have nowhere to sit other than the bed or the one chair provided.  I would look at the deluxe balcony or mini suite.

If you choose a cabin that just has a shower which are quite small I’ve seen photos where parents bring a small blow up pool and put it in the shower.
