But it does clog up the lifts.

And, on a related matter, the lifts claim to hold 18 people. Hos anyone ever been in a lift with that many?

I've always been intrigued by that.

These days 18 of "us" would comfortably fit within the weight limit if there was enough floor space for that many people. I imagine you would be more up close and personal with strangers than you might want to be.

For a long time our average weight would not have permitted that number!

Ha…unfortunately there are many Hyacinth Buckets in the world!

 and even more Onslows.

Folks who think they are somehow special and do not conform to the dress code, i.e. not even wear a jacket on "formal nights" are no less snobs than those in preening in the Grills.

I'd rather cruise with Hyacinth than Onslow any day, thanks very much.

I agree, it is selfish to go on a Cunard ship and ignore the dress code to show the rules don’t apply to them. During our recent TA, a guy thought he was special sporting an untucked Hawaiian shirt and khakis on Gala night in the Queen’s Room. It didn’t ruin my night but that was wrong. He did have a tucked in dress shirt and tie for the next Gala night.
However, in Onslow’s defense he looked good in a tux while dancing with Hyacinth on the QE2 special! If Onslow can wear a dress properly on Cunard, anyone can.
