LLSullie Posted March 15, 2006 #1 Share Posted March 15, 2006 My kids want to know if "people" are allowed up where the heliport is? Anybody?
tommoore1 Posted March 15, 2006 #2 Share Posted March 15, 2006 Yup, that's our favorite place to be for sail-away (but lets keep that our little secret, okay?) However, the Rhapsody of the Seas doesn't have a heliport.
megr1125 Posted March 15, 2006 #3 Share Posted March 15, 2006 Yes....you just have to hunt for how to get up there....it isn't actually marked. But perseverence pays off!
skypilotks Posted March 15, 2006 #4 Share Posted March 15, 2006 The Voyager, and Radience ships are the only ones with heliports! The others, the bow is off limits to the public, cuse that is wear all the anchor stuff is!
Bruin Steve Posted March 15, 2006 #5 Share Posted March 15, 2006 Most ships, passengers are not allowed on the Heliport... There was one exception when we sailed on the Summit to Alaska: When the ship cruised into Hubbard Glacier, passengers were allowed on the Heliport to view the Glacier... macnbc Posted March 15, 2006 #8 Share Posted March 15, 2006 Heliports are open on Radiance-class ships as well. The way to access it on those ships is to go out to the lifeboat area on deck 5 and keep walking fore until you find it. (They don't advertise it but they'll tell you if you ask)

(They don't advertise it but they'll tell you if you ask) Actually...on our Serenade cruise, the did sort of "advertise" it by inviting passengers to view the Pitons (and Monserrat) from the helicopter deck. It was pretty crowded those times, but other times it was a great place to get away from the crowds.
Twaincruisers Posted March 15, 2006 #10 Share Posted March 15, 2006 One of our favorite activities on cruises is to be able to go out to the bow, especially at night--so we really enjoy Radiance and Voyager class ships. Our first cruise was on a 37-year-old ship and we could get out to the bow day or night and we have been hooked ever since. Unfortunately, most of the more modern ships do not have access to the bow. karen_g Posted March 15, 2006 #11 Share Posted March 15, 2006 How do you get to it on the Navigator? We're leaving in 10 days!!
Lokalona Posted March 15, 2006 #12 Share Posted March 15, 2006 On BOS it is forward on the Promanade deck. We went there to watch the ship go through the Gaton Lock in Pamana. I will say it was way windy there even though we were going slow. Just 3 decks up the wind was not as bad b/c the glass breaks it.
