RED WARNING HEATWAVE ALERTS ISSUED FOR SEVERAL REGIONS OF SPAIN

Recommended Posts

due to the deadly heatwave (Cerberus) spreading across much of Southern Europe, with a second one (Cheron) due to arrive next week

This only a "heads up". More detailed info can be found online included  where, and how to cope with extreme heat situations.

Probably a good idea not to overplan sightseeing days and to keep well hydrated.

I live in the southern med, but we benefit from sea breezes.  Even so the heat at the moment is brutal.  Take your water, take your umbrellas and put your heath first when it comes to planning your day in southern europe.

Can sort of imagine how brutal that must be, as we once spent 2 weeks in Paphos, Cyprus on a family holiday during the month of July during which there was a heatwave, and we spent most of that time indoors in the hotel where there was a/c or in the pool ,as going anywhere outside was totally draining. And we had a car rental booked for a few days, but we, in common with others with rentals, didn't actually want to drive anywhere so it sat unused in the hotel car park for five days..  Fingers crossed for you that it will soon pass despite forecasts for even higher temps this coming week. As the French would say, Bon Courage!
