CRW916 Posted July 23, 2023 #1 Share Posted July 23, 2023 Hi, I have a few quick questions about the included drinks.. Are the included beers on draught or in tins/bottles? Are "special" coffees, Latte, Cacappuccino etc included or are they at extra cost?

Rare Windsurfboy Posted July 23, 2023 #3 Share Posted July 23, 2023 Draught beers in bars plus some bottles, special coffees, premium spirits eg single malt whisky, good cocktails are all included . OK wine, plus a good British bubbly included Only if you want premium wine will you need to put hand in pocket
Medeba Posted July 23, 2023 #4 Share Posted July 23, 2023 Here is the list of included drinks on our Discovery cruise in May. Hope it's helpful. Apologies for the fuzziness of the text! Here is the list of charged drinks 2
Rare Windsurfboy Posted July 24, 2023 #5 Share Posted July 24, 2023 Mediba thanks , good reading , a fine selection of included drinks. I see their premium wines are still excellent value. The most expensive red is actually slightly cheaper than UK retail.
lincslady Posted July 24, 2023 #6 Share Posted July 24, 2023 I think you will find the included drinks are pretty much equal to those on the 'luxury' ships, like Regent and Seabourn nowadays.
LondonLad60 Posted July 24, 2023 #7 Share Posted July 24, 2023 If you like cocktails, bar staff may be happy to mix you something that's not on the list. On our last cruise we got to know one particular barman, and my wife would ask him to mix her one of his 'specials'. She was never disappointed.

They certainly seem to be much better than Azamara, the included wines and spirits are very poor and the pay for ones are more expensive than Saga.
CRW916 Posted July 24, 2023 Author #9 Share Posted July 24, 2023 (edited) Thanks very much for the information, I have to admit I am shocked to see what a great selection of included drinks are on offer! Edited July 24, 2023 by CRW916
Kohima Posted July 24, 2023 #10 Share Posted July 24, 2023 The list of included drinks is not definitive. Among other cocktails, we often enjoy an espresso martini made free of charge.

The most expensive red is actually slightly cheaper than UK retail. Just to add a little to that: there is some variation in the price difference between Saga's Premium list and UK retail prices. For example: Villa Maria Sauvignon Blanc is £10 at Tesco and £14 on Saga. The Hedonist is £14.99 at Waitrose Cellar and £17 on Saga. Don Cristobel Malbec is £11.60 at Tanners Wines and £12 on Saga. Taittinger Brut is £43 at Tesco (£36 for Clubcard holders) and £43.99 at Waitrose (down to £31.99 until the end of the month) but just £34 on Saga. Even allowing for the fact that someone buying a premium bottle is unlikely also to be downing glasses of included wines at the same meal (!), the Saga prices range from fair to bargain. As Windsurfboy rightly says, excellent value.
