Medallion App activation

I rarely use apps so apologies for a dumb question. If I want room service, then I can pay one off fee to use the medallion app to order. But does this mean I also have to buy internet access to be able to use the app? I’m travelling from UK and don’t normally use my phone on a transatlantic crossing to avoid inadvertently incurring roaming charges.

So, if my phone is switched on but roaming and data are switched off, does the app still work.

Yes. You just need to have wifi on and connect the ships network.  No charge.      YET.

Yes, it works because you are using ships INTRANET and not accessing the Internet (WorldWideWeb).  Airplane Mode ON; Wifi Mode ON.
