NCteacherlovescruising Posted August 20, 2023 #1 Share Posted August 20, 2023 We have a cruise booked on the Pearl next summer. It says we will tender to Venice one day and dock in Trieste the next. Can you tell me about your experience tending to Venice? Last I heard they weren’t successful with this.
Rare steamboats Posted August 20, 2023 #2 Share Posted August 20, 2023 I doubt that anyone can answer your question. I haven´t heard that they implemented it already. So far there is no tendering in Venice. See also this thread steamboats
UnbridledEnthusiasm Posted August 20, 2023 #3 Share Posted August 20, 2023 I was on the Gem out of Athens on July 26. The ship ended in Trieste (didn't tender) but was supposed to be in Venice. When I went to Venice, there was 1 NCL ship in port that did tender. I think it was Prima? Viva? One huge ship. I'll be honest, this was my 3rd trip to Venice and I regret not spending more time in Trieste. While I knew the weather would be hot and muggy, the crowds made the experience even worse. Trieste is actually a beautiful city, wasn't crowded, and wasn't touristy. That said, I do think everyone should go to Venice if you are in the area and have never been.
