trip protection after booking

You will have a window of time after booking (and before final payment) where you can add trip protection on most bookings. It depends on your fare code.

Non-refundable rates that are due in full at time of booking, require trip protection be done purchased then as you cannot add it later.

Best to ask when you book so you're not surprised or disappointed.

Name changes are not generally permitted.  Trip protection can generally be purchased at any point before final payment is due, but do pay attention to coverage of pre-existing condition exceptions. Some policies require purchase of protection at or within a few days of original booking for coverage of preexisting conditions.

Assuming you are asking about HAL protection. Third party can be purchased later but if you want CFAR or preexisting coverage, it has to be at specific times (within deposit/booking or before final payment).Steve at Tripinsurancestore is a good resource.
