When I was about 9 I saw another kid that was a few years older than me in line at the 7-11 popping off with language. The old lady in front of him turned around and slapped him yelling something along the lines of "how dare you use that kind of language in front of a lady." The guy behind the counter told him to get out.

 

These days that lady would probably be arrested.

 

I'm not sure how the slap affected the poor darling, but I still can't say certain words in front of a lady...

 

 

Something like this I feel would be appropriate:

I would never say that to anyone. Especially not a child. He just had a quick wit I appreciated.
