Spring Wear? Summer Wear? Colors on a late March W. Carib. Cruise?

We're going on a late March Western Caribbean cruise. What colors are typically worn? Spring colors? What about white - does the "not before Memorial Day" rule apply? What colors do the ladies typically wear on the formal nights?

 

It's supposed to snow here tomorrow - Spring is more of a concept than a fashion force here in Colorado.

Memorial Day is not observed in the Western Caribbean countries. They wear any color all year long. It isn't so much a matter of color, but fabric. You will want summer weight clothing for excursions, but the ship itself can be quite cool.

 

At night you may want a light jacket or wrap or sweater to ward off the cool air in the dining room and theater. You may also find it is quite chilly if you enjoy the upper deck at night for star watching, especially when the ship is watching.

You will definitely want to wear summer clothes in summer colors. It will be warm to hot during the day, unless you get unlucky and hit a cool spell. And even then it will be pretty warm. The 'white before Memorial Day' rule does not apply there--and is going out of style many places, IMO. Wear what is cool and comfortable.

 

Do bring a light dressy wrap for the air conditioning at night and a light jacket of some type in case it gets cool on deck--usually at night.

Sorry, forgot your last question. You will see a lot of black worn by ladies on formal night with a good mix of other colors. I think it's refreshing to see some color in formal gowns, and I do think I've seen more colored dresses than formerly, but black is still the most dominat color.
