Miami as a port of call (not a departure port)

We will be on a cruise that calls on Miami on the day before Thanksgiving 8am to 10pm.  Any suggestions of what we can do in port that day?  We were considering the cruise ship tour of the Everglades, but want to look at other options.

If you want to keep things super simple, you can head to Bayside Marketplace near the port and take one of the many tours offered. There’s one which takes you on a speed boat along the mansions of the rich and famous, followed by an exhilarating ride at full speed along Miami Beach.

Depends on where the ship dock & your  ability to walk long distances

Terminal J would be the closer  dock  to get  to Bayside

Miami operates a free trolley service that stops in the port. There are multiple lines and you can transfer from one to another ... all free.  You can explore a BUNCH of Miami via the trolley .... downtown, little havana ......  https://www.miami.gov/Transportation-Roadways/Trolley-Information/Get-Trolley-Information-Schedules-and-Maps  <this system does NOT go to Miami BEACH ... a different city>

 

Bayside is walkable depending on your endurance ... you need to walk over the bridge connecting the port <Dodge Island> to the main land. In round numbers you are looking at a mile up and over on a narrow sidewalk on the bridge <my yellow line is approx 'ground level' entry points to the bridge>
