Navigator app texting

new to the navigator app. how do I text another passenger on the navigator app while on a cruise?  do I need just their name or also room #?

Just their name but they also have to be set up in Navigator. And the messaging might not be instant as the system sometimes has delays. Also remember to turn notifications on so you will receive notifications when chats come through.

Using the Navigator App, click the "Connect" icon located at the bottom of the menu. This will show you a menu of for the Chat feature.

 

FYI - We have iphones and find it much easier to communicate with iMessenger once our devices were both on HAL's intranet.

Did this work even if you didn't purchase wifi on board?

To connect your iPhones with iMessage you need paid wifi...it does not work with the ship's intranet.I message does not work with the phone in airplane mode.
