It saves some time when you get go the port, but you can just wait until you get to the pier. Just plan for a little longer check in process. However, your edocs contain info that you might need in the case of an issue with transfers, excursions, paid services, etc. Always a good idea to have a copy. If he can't finish the e-docs at home, he won't be able to print or download them as they will not exist yet.However, per your suggestion, he could go to the cruise payment; guest info; insurance purchased; pre-paid amenities sections, etc. and print out all that applied.
