Upgrade bid amount counted as on-board spend for Voyagers Club?

I know if your upgrade bid is accepted you still only get the amount of Voyagers Club points for the original experience type and cruise length.  But has anyone ever noticed they got Voyagers points for the dollar amount of the upgrade cost as on-board spend points, like they do for pre-paid excursions, laundry, shows etc...?

We added a second cabin once we were on board and that did count toward Voyagers Club

Both times we have done the upgrade bid into YC it has counted as pre-boarding spending and have gotten points added. This was for Seashore last year and Seaside this year. It still worked out to the $150 = 100 points conversion. The original fares were the travel agent special rates, so not sure if that had anything to do with it.
