We also took the ferry over to Manly, so easy to do!

The beach was fabulous and it was kinda like stepping back in time to a "seaside" resort.

 

Getting around Sydney is so easy with the underground, ferries & trams.

You just tap your credit or debit card.....so advanced compared to what we have in Edinburgh 🙄

We plan on coming into Sydney 2-3 days ahead, so those sounds like great options right near the pier. Hotels at pier area look quite good as well.  We would love to go to a performance at Opera House and likely book something there. Any great diner or food spots - maybe within walking distance?

The restaurant at the Opera House, Bennelong, is excellent. The awesome architecture of the Opera House extends into the restaurant. Bennelong has soaring wood beamed ceilings with very nice views of the bridge, harbor, and the Sydney skyline. We ate there for dinner after our guided tour.

Aria is another lovely restaurant near the opera house. It's pricey but very good.
