Belci Posted November 15, 2023 #1 Share Posted November 15, 2023 Hi, Thinking of heading to Pinel island on our January cruise. Anyone been lately? Suggestions? All still ok with taxi to ferry, then ferry across? Thanks for any info.. Cheers
craigtompkins Posted January 25 #2 Share Posted January 25 Belci, I'm not sure if you are back yet or not as it's still January. Did you end up going to Pinel Island? My wife and I have been a few times, we have always gotten the "tour" with Benard's Tour which is really just $45 per person for a van ride to and from the ferry. I just came on here to see if I could find a way to save a few $$. That being said, does anyone know if we can just get a taxi back and forth and what that cost might be? My biggest concern would be taxi back to Philipsburg.
CroozeNoob Posted January 26 #3 Share Posted January 26 I am with you - I am working on planning our port day in St. Martin, and would like to know the most cost effective/best way to get to Pinel Island.

Take the short ferry ride to Pinel Island Ferry: https://www.caribbeanpaddling.com/blog/ferry-schedule-to-pinel-island?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA8NKtBhBtEiwAq5aX2IkIXB_Ca0WWtfOvsXA_T2_PUC-PPertHs8lKoVBnrLsAHhibtrhrxoCcNgQAvD_BwE Beaches: https://www.lekaribuni.com/restaurant https://www.yellowbeach.restaurant As these beaches are popular with residents, stayers and cruisers, therefore space is very limited. Best to book well in advance to secure on’s beds and day.

The second like you provided (lekaribuni) appears to he for some sort of resort that is requiring me to have a 7 night stay.

Karibuni is part of the Hotel, but is open to reservations for a day visit if there is availability. If having any questions regard any of the venues, they will be happy to answer. Plenty of cabs available at Cruise port and from ferry. Also, one’s outward driver will be happy to be time booked for the return to ship, or town. Price? Work on $30/35 per cab each way plus tip.
