Rare jam19872016 Posted December 1, 2023 Author #326 Share Posted December 1, 2023 Schedule is kind of light again tonight. Last night was the night that the theater and the comedians all had off. Piano player too. She is off again tonight, I wonder if she is sick because come to think of it she wasn't at 88 keys when I tried to catch it and that should have been around the time she was doing her part of the preshow. Flick is the show tonight which is my favorite Playlist Production so I am going to check that out probably each week. Doors will open for that at 9.

Why not? 3 hours ago, jam19872016 said: These ports have held no interest for me. While they are pretty, they are manufactured for tourism with no authentic culture. Some of the later ports are real places and I may venture out. San Juan is a beautiful place with an historical background but it is also the hottest place on earth I've ever been to so I probably still won't make it out. St.maarten is nice. Cozumel is almost always a get off the ship day. I didn't do more than take a walk in one port on my cruise a couple weeks ago. Some of the ports I've visited so many times that there isn't much more to experience. On top of that, some of those same ports used to be my favorites, but the ships have gotten so big and so many people in port that it just isn't an enjoyable experience. I didn't used to understand the phrase "cruising for the ship" but it is something I do as well now. We all enjoy different things for different reasons. Happy cruising! 7

They all have a been there, done that factor for me. I enjoy the ship so much more on quiet port days especially after my TAs where we were all on the ship day after day after day.

Rare jam19872016 Posted December 1, 2023 Author #337 Share Posted December 1, 2023 SRO at casino bar. Red Frog if you get there early is probably your best bet. Booth seems more comfortable than a bar stool. Neither have sound, but these are grown folks cheering louder than the people winning money in the casino something tells me they don't need sound.
Rare jam19872016 Posted December 1, 2023 Author #338 Share Posted December 1, 2023 We can be friends again. She even offered me prosecco but I wanted something stronger. Tiramisu martini in a walking glass. Took it to the club, quiet in here still. Battlefield 🎶 Jordin Sparks FTW!!

We now use the ship "as the destination" most of the time. Might get off to shop for a bit, then right back on to enjoy the quietness. Gives us an opportunity to enjoy some of the aspects of the ship we can't get to when ship is at full population.
Rare jam19872016 Posted December 1, 2023 Author #345 Share Posted December 1, 2023 Good morning everyone. Today is the final day of the first leg of the cruise. There is a walk a mile event today at noon which I've only seen on journeys cruises. I'm gonna make sure I make it to that. Also didn't get any B2B information so if that does not show up soon I'll head to guest services. I've literally never linked my reservations ever and ots never been an issue but I guess there is a first for everything.

I think everyone with a repeat port should designate one day a stay on the ship day. It's quite nice.
Rare jam19872016 Posted December 1, 2023 Author #347 Share Posted December 1, 2023 Flick was amazing last night. It's so much different than the other Playlist Productions which are all sort of simple musical review type shows. This one was well thought out with amazing special effects and amazing choreography. I am not a theater person by any means, so for me to notice the choreography, it has to be good. The downside of the show, with no disrespect to the singers who have more talent than I will ever have, is some of the songs are not easy to sing and listening to them try is a little painful at times. This was a talented group with not one, but two female leads who didn't try to hit the same note as Whitney Houston and Celion Dion. They sang within their range and sounded beautiful. I've seen this show many times and this was the best version of it that I've seen yet!
Rare jam19872016 Posted December 1, 2023 Author #348 Share Posted December 1, 2023 I went ahead and bought Wifi for each leg last night. I have a lot of OBC the last two weeks so I contemplated buying the Chef's Table. It's up to $129!! Good lord, people have lost their minds! I don't mean Carnival. It's actually sold out! Who are these people paying this much money. Steakhouse is listed at $49, and Cucina at $24. Onboard pricing is still $48/$18 so I will be checking that out tomorrow to see if onboard pricing goes up. Good chance it will since it will be the first cruise of a new month. I won't fault Carnival for raising the prices, supply and demand. I just can't understand the demand part of it. People just keep willingly paying more and more. I do question how many in the steakhouse are paying, I would imagine most are on a comp (that's the only time I go). Cucina on the other hand has always been empty at night. Not many takers at $15, yet it keeps going up. In the $15-$18 range I always found value but I'm not sure I still do after my meal there the other night. At $24 I'm not sure I would try it again.
